FAMUR signs yet another contract within the Polish market

FAMUR SA will provide the mining company Przedsiębiorstwo Górnicze "SILESIA" with yet another longwall system. Delivery of machinery and equipment, along with installation, is scheduled to take place by the end of the second quarter of 2018. The value of the order is approx. PLN 62.6 million.

The contract with PG Silesia is yet another significant project which the FAMUR Group will carry out in the near future for a Polish customer. At the beginning of October this year, FAMUR SA presented the most attractive offer in response to a tender announced by the Polish Mining Group (Polska Grupa Górnicza, PGG), the subject of which is finance lease along with delivery of new armoured face conveyors and beam stage loaders for PGG branch offices. Earlier this year, in May, a consortium consisting of FAMUR PEMUG and KOPEX-PBSz concluded with Tauron Wydobycie a contract for construction of the “Grzegorz” shaft at the “Sobieski” Mining Plant in Jaworzno. And in April, a contract was signed with Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA, under which FAMUR PEMUG will expand and modernize the coal preparation plant at the “Budryk” mine, which is owned by JSW.

– This is already the third longwall system delivery which FAMUR carries out for Przedsiębiorstwo Górnicze SILESIA during the last six years. Our mining systems have been supporting the activities of PG Silesia for several years. It is worth noting that the professionalism of the mine crew, coupled with carefully selected FAMUR equipment, allowed in recent years to achieve record production several times. This is the best recommendation we could possibly get – a customer, satisfied with our comprehensive and effective solution, once more decides to purchase FAMUR equipment. New contracts within the Polish market indicate that the relationship between the FAMUR Group and Polish mining companies is getting stronger. They also show that FAMUR, through providing comprehensive and highly advanced solutions, is seen as a reliable partner who supports the growth of the mining sector both in Poland and worldwide, – comments Mirosław Bendzera, President of the Management Board of FAMUR SA
