On 11 July at its Katowice plant FAMUR SA received representatives of the Turkish company IMBAT MADENCILIK, who accepted the powered roof support units and the armoured face conveyor manufactured for them. This stems from a contract for delivery of three longwall systems, which was signed in April. Its total value is 12.2 million Euro.

Under the contract, FAMUR will supply the Turkish customer with a total of 300 sections of the FRS 16/26 powered roof support units, three PSZ-750 armoured face conveyors and a KGS-245N shearer loader by the end of January 2018. This is yet another order placed for such equipment by IMBAT MADENCILIK; KGS-245N will be the sixth shearer loader of this type bought for a mine owned by the Turkish company.

As a company, FAMUR has always been close to us owing to good communication with persons who deal with the Turkish market, and its equipment is characterized by high quality – assessed Kenan Lukumci, representative of IMBAT MADENCILIK, during the visit in Katowice. As he explained, Famur machines whose purchase was decided have a unique design and application.

Ultimately, next year as many as five longwall systems utilizing the LTCC method supplied by FAMUR will be operating at the Imbat mine.

Turkey is one of the key directions of international expansion for the FAMUR Group. Since 2014 we have been pushing to develop our business on that market, for example through regular participation in the most important mining trade fairs or consistent building of relationships with the biggest Turkish mining companies – says Mirosław Bendzera, president of the Management Board of FAMUR SA – IMBAT MADENCILIK is one of the largest coal producers in Turkey, a company with a clear vision, geared towards development. Our customer focuses on safety and efficiency, which is why it is successful in the industry. FAMUR, in turn, has the necessary qualifications in the field of comprehensive support for mining projects, and our technical solutions work even in the most difficult geological conditions. Yet another delivery of Famur machinery and equipment for Imbat confirms that in Turkey we are seen as a reliable and trustworthy business partner – he adds.
